Mr. Edwin John Nawrocki, age 86 of Walker, entered the arms of the Lord on Christmas Eve Monday, December 24, 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife Dolores (nee Kozminski), baby son John and daughter Linda M. Howes. Surviving are his children, Frederick and Rev. Cindy Nawrocki, Edwin Jr. and Linda Nawrocki, Margaret and Steve Hetherington, Noreen and Tom Glynn, Janice and Tom Lemon, Mary Beth and Mark Sobel, Stephen and Lisa Nawrocki, son-in-law Steve Howes; twenty seven grandchildren; thirteeen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; brother -in- law Richard Kozminski, sister-in-law Phyllis Kozminski; many special nieces and nephews, and dear friend Joan Santa. He was also preceded in death by his siblings Eugene Nawrocki, Lorraine Gumowski, and Barbara Nawrocki. He was a veteran of WWII and belonged to the American Legion Boat and Canoe Club. Edwin enjoyed playing golf, especially with his friends in the Lincoln Golf Leagues. He was a former member of St. Alphonsus Church and was currently an active member of St. Anthony of Padua Church with a special devotion to the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Edwin retired as a skilled Machinist from Leitelt Iron Works after 42 years of service. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday 11:00 am at St. Anthony Church where he will repose one hour prior to the mass. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Mortuary, 3525 Remembrance RD NW where the Rosary will be prayed Thursday 8:30 pm. The family extends a special thanks to the caregivers of Covenant Village. Memorial contributions to the St. Anthony Education Foundation or Catherines Health Center will be appreciated.
